Search and Rescue

Modernization of four SAR35 type boats that belong to Turkish Coast Guard, named TCSG71, TCSG72, TCSG73 and TCSG74, to reach a maximum speed of 26+knots and to withstand the mentioned speed with acceptable sea-keeping properties.

  • Design Evaluation
  • As built drawings and modeling of the vessel has been accomplished with 3D laser surface imaging methods.
  • Tank towing tests accomplished to forecast the needed power of main engines.
  • Power optimization concluded and final decision made to use two engines instead of three.
  • All required engine room components determined such as main engines, shafts, reduction gears,propellers, purifiers, air compressors, pumps.
  • New drawings for the engine-room and hull prepared.
  • Dismantling
  • The boats have been taken ashore and all engine room, including equipments, piping and isolation has been taken out for scrap.
  • Re-construction
  • • New hull parts installed in order to withstand the new performance criteria.
  • • New foundations have been built for the equipment in the engine-room.
  • • New brackets for the re-engineered shaft-line have been constructed and installed outside the hull.
  • • All engine-control room, bridge control and flybridge control stations have been modernized with new systems.
  • • All propulsion system including main engines, reduction gears, shaft and propeller systems replaced with new ones.
  • • Air compressors are replaced with new ones
  • • Fuel separators are replaced with new ones.
  • • Various pumps, fans, electrical cabinets, control systems are installed.
